trading as Softdev Imaging & IT
is a close corporation company initiated in Johannesburg,
Republic of South Africa aiming to better serve the automated
needs of businesses and the individual
in general.
Softdev initial objectives
covered the wide spectrum of
Information
Technology, constantly keeping updated as new developments
occurred. In order to better serve its client base, and
conforming to set growth plans, the company soon enlarged its
operation to allow for the integration of Hardware sales
divisions.
The Hardware sales divisions now cover
IT & Computer, Imaging
& Photography and
general Multimedia products,
all being handled by expertly trained staff.
The company's
multiple operational divisions, cover most Digital
Technological IT &
Computers specific and general consumer
Photographic,
Audio-Visual and
Console Games requirements, and
is still growing, with many projected future plans for full scope
retailing, including its own store.
"It was only logic that in this digital age, from writing software for a
client,
next step forward would be to sell all the relative hardware components, and
top it by providing its visual
media. This, we feel is the complete solution".

C. M. Lopes (MCP., I.M.M., S.A.I.M., CIS, CSEM-CSEO), kept in tandem with the Data Processing advancement from the time
when involved with Main Frame Operating systems (IBM® 370/158, ICL® Sys4 and Burroughs®) at local based Bureaus. Progressing through Programming,
was involved in projects handling Cobol®, Fortran®, GWBasic® and Pascal® languages. An interval, due to getting involved in the retail industry of AV business,
followed, but always kept informed of IT advancements, integrating it now as a consumer of services. Involved in 'In-House' projects,
Lopes helped maintain the required IT related information up to date, allowing gradual introduction to the latest operating environments (Windows® and Linux®)
as well as supported Programming languages of the day (C#, Visual Basic® and a host of Scripting languages such as JavaScript® and PHP®).
His decision to integrate the Sales of IT & Computer
Hardware, Photographic Gear and Visual Multimedia in the
form of Movie & Music DVD's as well as PC and other console
Games, falls in line with his view of a complete solution in
a Digital Technology driven World.
Fotodev® and MuseX® are also his projects.

Certified personnel is involved in custom
applications programming and compiled
code deployments in Windows®
and Linux®
based solutions (C#,
Visual Basic.NET, C++,
Linux), and LAMP
(Apache-MySQL-PHP)
or WAMP Database solutions (Windows®
Server-MSQL or
MsAccess-ASP.NET). For complete automation
of services rendered, this division also deploys
solutions for both O/S on Point of Sale
(POS), Project
Management Server synergies and Microsoft®
Office VBA
Automation.

|
Division integrates part or full-house
Web deployments.
Working in tandem with other divisions (i.e. Marketing). It caters for the Designing and
creation (Graphics &
Templates
in JASC®,
Photoshop®,
Corel®)
of a Website, and full integration using appropriate
technical format Industry standards (Flash,
HTML,
XHTML,
JavaScript,
CSS,
PHP,
SQL,
ActionScript,
VB and
XML).
Hosting of Websites are
also arranged under the division specs, alongside
optimization solutions provided in parallel by the Marketing
Division.

The Marketing Division apart from in-house works

Domain registrations, its
Legal aspects,
Optimization tasks,
Computer courses, projects
synergies and market related investigative census with
ways of Charting optimized solutions and with views to
pro-active responses.

The Division oversees and implements
Softdev's sales of
Computer Hardware,
Imaging (Photographic Gear),
Software and
Multimedia (Movie &
Music DVD's as well
as PC,
Xbox, PSP
and PlayStation Games). Together
with Marketing personnel, members arrange for Specials, Stocks and
the Newsletter as well as the related displays in all
forms of media.

Certified members (IT Hardware)
oversee the after sales support on
Computer Hardware
related issues, on behalf of the Client and directly with
the product Brand warranty endorsers, as well as
assisting with installations of these products.
Members also provide Data
Conversion and Recovery as well as full
Server Installation,
and configuration.
